    i recently root and try to install kitkat 4.4 whole procedure followed as mentioned above but its not responding after 25 min what can i do?

    At first I need to thank for sharing such an easy guideline to upgrade for galaxy y but unfortunately I still made a mistake by formatting my SD Card too with (data, system and cache). Now I may not instal as there are no files in sd card so please advise me a solution.

      If you wiped all the data you can start from Step 1 again.

        Yeah, I tried to start from the first step after recopying the 3 zip files in SD card through a memory card reader. However, there was an installation failure in updating CWM file (step1) due to an error in the file, while all remaining steps ran smoothly. Whenever I switch on my device, then for a few seconds a front page of Samsung open (Displaying Samsung galaxy Y Young S5360) and then it switch-off. After a few more seconds a front page opens again, hence this cycle of on and off continue until the battery is removed. By the way, thanks for replying

    One more thing I have discovered now that my mobile is smoothly running KitKat without a Sim card. However, when I insert a Sim card then problem incurs of ‘on and off’ (as told earlier).

    Yeah I rooted my phone before experimenting on kitkat. Well now I have unrooted my device and have got back to gingerbread so I guess my problem resolved
